A vast majority of children require braces to correct bite issues—but how do you know if your child needs to see an orthodontist ? You don’t have to wait for a dentist to refer you to an orthodontist if you think your child may need treatment. This video details some of the warning signs you should look out for.
Early indicators that your child need braces include prolonged thumb sucking, late or early eruption of baby teeth, and popping sounds when he or she chews. If your child’s bite is obviously misaligned, consult an orthodontist immediately.
